Spring Seedlings

Toward the end of February each year, it is exciting to plant tiny seeds in anticipation of them flourishing into full flowers, herbs, and vegetables once they reach our garden beds in June.

We find the best seedling soil to nurture their growth and development to be organic Pro-Mix seedling soil. This year we have started a variety of annual flowers, perennials, and herbs. Seeds that are pelleted, such as Petunia seeds, take about 2 to 3 weeks longer to germinate than untreated seeds such as Geraniums.

Do you plant seeds in late winter or await purchasing flourishing plants at a local nursery toward the end of spring?
