Celebrating Nurses Week 2025

https://vimeo.com/1093716397?share=copy208795 Happy Nurses Week 2025 from Janice Sealey and the Create13 Team With enormous gratitude, we thank the extraordinary nurses at Margaret’s Place Hospice for the care given to Dr. Brian Sealey, my husband, and me during the last days of Brian’s life. The care was reminiscent of the equally extraordinary care Brian, and I received from the nurses in ICU West at the Hamilton General Hospital following his cardiac bypass surgery in May of 2007. Again, in 2023, we received wonderful care from the nurses on the urology ward at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, at the Juravinski Cancer Center, and in community with Ontario Health atHome. Given our superb experiences with nurses, we fully endorse the Canadian Nurse’s Association 2025 theme, ‘The Power of Nurses to Transform Health.’ Daily, nurses are indeed transforming health as they creatively deliver compassionate patient-centered care. We also unite with the Ontario Nurses Association in solidarity to fight back against understaffing, underfunding, unsafe conditions, and privatization. We affirm the ONA 2025 theme, ‘Raising our voices. Speaking the truth.’ The International Council of Nurses is shifting our focus to the health and well-being of nurses with their 2025 theme, ‘Our Nurses. Our future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies.’ At CREATE 13 Studios, we are developing a program for nurses to build ‘Resilience,’ in support of ICN drawing our attention to caring for nurses.  We recommend a super new novel, ‘Flight of the Wild Swan,’ by award-winning novelist, Melissa Prichard. This majestic novel narrates the life
